Lent, Day 31 (Wednesday)

Jesus by Jo Justino (Brazil)

Images of Jesus so often portray him looking serious, thoughtful, or in pain. Images of him smiling, or looking at ease with the world are harder to find. In this image Jesus looks directly at us, with a gentle smile on his face.

Know that this is how Jesus looks at you. With the look of acceptance, of approval, and of love. You are precious in his sight. You are enough.

Jesus loves me, this I know,
for the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to him belong;
they are weak, but he is strong.

Anna Bartlett Warner, c 1850

Thank you Jesus that you love me,

accept me, and cherish me.

Amen.
