St Clare’s at the Cathedral is a new church community in the heart of the ancient city of Coventry.
St Clare’s at the Cathedral Shop will be CLOSED for the foreseeable future, in response to the Coronavirus crisis. However, our online shop continues to trade and we are adding additional products to the range of items available.
Sunday worship is currently suspended, but the St Clare’s community will continue to pray for each other, for our city and the world at this difficult time.
Pre-ordered bread for collection from Proof Bakery will continue to be between 12-1 pm on Thursdays, but the shop will not be open.
Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy.
Sustain and support the anxious,
be with those who care for the sick,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may find comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
St Clare’s is a small and friendly inclusive church community, that offers a home to the spiritually seeking, to those who have wandered away from God, to those who never knew him and to those who have lost their faith in the church.
We meet for Sunday Worship at noon for a simple service of communion. We share bread and wine and think about what God is doing in our lives. You are also invited to stay for a simple lunch of bread and cheese and soup after the service. Just come along, or pop into the shop during the week to say hello and find our more.
GENEROUS – Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts. (Acts 2: 46)
At St Clare’s we are seeking new ways to live generously, asking God to help us be ever more open handed and open hearted.
SIMPLE – Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?’ Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:36-38)
At Clare’s we try to keep the way we do things simple as life is complicated enough. Our questions may be complex, but our services are pared down; familiar to those who know church but more simple than they might have known before.
OPEN – Jesus said: ‘Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’ (Matthew 11: 28)
We are seeking to be a place of sanctuary to people and ideas, a place of challenge as we grow in Christ, but not a place of judgement between his people. We are delighted to be an SCM link church.
ST CLARE’S SHOP

You are welcome to come in and browse or come and have a chat and find out more about St Clare’s and whether it might be the church community for you. We also sell a number of items through our online shop.
