St Clare’s at the Cathedral is a new church community in the heart of the ancient city of Coventry.
St Clare’s is a small and friendly inclusive church community, that offers a home to the spiritually seeking, to those who have wandered away from God, to those who never knew him and to those who have lost their faith in the church.
We meet for Sunday Worship at noon for a simple service of communion. We share bread and wine and think about what God is doing in our lives. Come and help us set up, or just chat and drink coffee from 11.30 am. You are also invited to stay for lunch after the service.
GENEROUS – Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts. (Acts 2: 46)
At St Clare’s we are seeking new ways to live generously, asking God to help us be ever more open handed and open hearted.
SIMPLE – Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?’ Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:36-38)
At Clare’s we try to keep the way we do things simple as life is complicated enough. Our questions may be complex, but our services are pared down; familiar to those who know church but more simple than they might have known before.
OPEN – Jesus said: ‘Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’ (Matthew 11: 28)
We are seeking to be a place of sanctuary to people and ideas, a place of challenge as we grow in Christ, but not a place of judgement between his people.
