Christ’s embrace

A very sensible friend, not given to flights of fancy told me how once, when she was having a really difficult time, she arrived at church, and just sat and bowed her head and cried.
As she sat there, someone came up behind her and wrapped their arms around her. She didn’t need to look to know that there was no one there. She knew it was Christ.
We all have moments in our lives when everything seems impossible, and all we seem able to do is sit and cry. Know that at those moments Christ is with you, embracing you in his love.
Jesus, friend and saviour,
Thank you for your wide, strong arms,
embracing me in times of need,
and holding the world in your love.
Amen.
