Lent, Day 28 (Saturday)

Lord, stay with us, Rufus46, 2011

As you come to the end of the 5th week of Lent journey, you may be weary.

The Lenten disciplines that you set yourself may feel hard to sustain, or you may not have managed to keep them going.

This image of the two disciples walking with Jesus on the road to Emmaus, reminds us that Jesus is with us on our Lenten journey.

As they call out to Jesus, ‘Lord, stay with us’, so we too cry out to Jesus to stay with us in this journey, and to renew our strength.

Lord, stay with me,

Help me to keep walking when I stumble,

Help me to stand again when I fall,

Help me to complete my Lenten journey

Knowing you are always by my side.

Amen.
