Lent, Day 12 (Tuesday)

The Saviour of the world, El Greco, c 1600

This image of Jesus shows Christ as the Saviour of the World.

His left hand rests gently on a globe, a symbol of the world he has come to save.

His right hand is raised in a pose of blessing.

Our world is in need of salvation and of blessing. Glimpses of the Kingdom of Heaven are all around, but we long and pray for the fullness of Christ’s Kingdom to come.

Where are the places in the world on your heart today?

Where do you long to see peace and justice come?

Pray for the coming of God’s kingdom.

Our Father in heaven,

Hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come,

Your will be done

in earth, as it is in heaven.
