The miraculous catch of fish, Jan Toorop, 1910

I adore this picture. It’s so full of life and movement and energy. It’s as if the risen Christ, the disciples and even the fish are dancing.
By awesome deeds you answer us with deliverance,
O God of our salvation;
you are the hope of all the ends of the earth
and of the farthest seas.
Those who live at earth’s farthest bounds are awed by your signs;
you make the gateways of the morning and the evening shout for joy.
Take a moment to give thanks for all that is good in your life. For all that gives you energy. For the things that make you want to dance.
Thank you Jesus,
that you came to bring life in all its fulness.
Fill me with your Spirit,
with your joy,
with your life giving energy,
today and always.
Amen.
