Description
The Way is represented by the labyrinth which symbolises the spiritual journey through life. This design is from one of three corbels from the chapel which take their subjects from the ‘I am’ sayings of Jesus: ‘I am the way, the truth and the life’ (St. John 14:6)” Her inspiration for this maze is from an illustration from Architecture, Mysticism & Myth (1892) by William R. Lethaby. Mary Watts (1849-1939) Designer of the Chapel.
