Donations of Secondhand Books

“Second hand books are wild books, homeless books; they have come together in vast flocks of variegated feather, and have a charm which the domesticated volumes of the library lack.”
— Virgina Woolf

We are so incredibly grateful to all the people that donate their own books, or books of departed loved ones, to St Clare’s. These books not only provide an important revenue stream but are bought and appreciated by people from far and wide.

However, seven years of experience as to what sells, along with limited storage and staff capacity to sort books means we cannot just take all donations.

We do not take any booklets, pamphlets, courses or CDs, or books that are not theological or Christian in content.

We would love to receive theology/Christian books that fit into one or more of the following 4 categories.

If MOST of your books fit into these categories, then we’d love to have them, we don’t mind a bit of sorting. If MOST of your books don’t, then we’re sorry, we can’t take the whole lot, but would still love it if you could sort out and bring the ones that do.

Books published prior to 2000 must be:
