Risen Christ, Olugbemi Moronfolu, 2023
This gorgeous, almost ethereal image of the resurrected Jesus, was created by a member of St Clare’s in one sitting. She was determined not to overthink it, and that gives it a sense of lightness and movement which I love. It makes me think of the final verse of the Sydney Carter hymn, Lord of the Dance.
They cut me down
And I leapt up high;
I am the life
That’ll never, never die;
I’ll live in you
If you’ll live in me –
I am the Lord
Of the Dance, said he.
Thank you Jesus,
that you live in me,
and I in you,
for all eternity.
